Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before sending your console in. If your question isn't answered here, email us at admin@senditconsolerepairs.com — a real person reads it.

Getting Started

How do I start a repair?

Pick your console's brand from Start a Repair, find your device and the service you need, and check out. We email you a prepaid shipping label within one business day. See the full process on our How It Works page.

What if I don't know what's wrong with my console?

Order a diagnostic service for your device. We'll inspect it, identify the fault, and contact you with a quote before doing any repair work. If you go ahead with the repair we quote, the diagnostic fee is credited toward it.

What consoles do you work on?

Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, Sega, and a range of computers and handhelds — modern systems and retro hardware alike. Browse Start a Repair to see every device and service we currently offer. Don't see your system? Email us and ask.

Do you work on retro consoles?

Yes — retro hardware is a big part of what we do. Please read the Vintage and Used Hardware section of our Terms of Service first. Aged plastics, brittle clips, and components near the end of their life mean disassembly of older systems carries real risk, even with careful handling.

Shipping and Drop-Off

How much is shipping?

A flat fee charged at checkout that covers transit both ways — your console to us and the repaired console back to you. There's no second shipping charge at the end.

How do I get my shipping label?

We email it to you within one business day of your order. Print it, tape it to your packed box, and drop it off with the carrier shown on the label.

Can I drop my console off locally instead?

Yes, at two locations in North Richland Hills. Local drop-off customers aren't charged a shipping fee and don't need a shipping label.

6238 Rufe Snow Dr #124, North Richland Hills, TX 76180
Mon–Sat 10:00 AM – 7:00 PM · Sun 12:00 – 7:00 PM

Order online first, then bring your console in boxed with your order number written clearly on the outside. Without an order number attached we have no way to match your device to your repair. Hours may vary on holidays — check before you head over.

How should I pack my console?

Use a sturdy box with room for cushioning on all sides — bubble wrap, foam, or crumpled paper so nothing shifts in transit. Consoles packed loosely in an undersized box are the most common cause of shipping damage. Our responsibility begins when we receive and inspect your device, and damage from insufficient packaging isn't covered.

What should I include in the box?

Just the bare console and any parts you're supplying. Leave out games, memory cards, controllers, cables, and accessories unless we specifically ask for them. We aren't responsible for items sent that weren't needed for the repair.

Repairs, Pricing, and Timing

How long will my repair take?

Most repairs are completed within 5 business days of the day we receive your console — that's bench time, not counting shipping in either direction. Turnaround times are estimates rather than guarantees — parts availability, carrier delays, and additional faults discovered during inspection can all affect the timeline. If something's going to take longer than expected, we'll tell you.

Is the price on the website what I'll actually pay?

For the service described, assuming no additional faults, yes. If we open your console and find damage or a different fault than reported, we contact you with options and a revised price before touching anything. We never perform or charge for work you haven't approved.

What if you can't fix it?

Some devices can't be repaired — particularly older hardware, liquid-damaged boards, and devices with prior repair attempts. If we can't complete your repair, we refund what you paid for it less a $49 bench fee covering diagnosis, disassembly, and testing labor, and return your device at no additional shipping cost. The shipping fee paid at checkout isn't refundable, since it covers transit both ways.

Where a specific repair carries a meaningful chance of failure because of the nature of the fault, we say so in the product description along with the approximate success rate.

Will I lose my saves and data?

Possibly — back up everything before you send your device. Many repairs, including drive replacements, board-level work, and system reinstalls, result in complete data loss. We aren't responsible for lost saves, profiles, downloads, or files, and we don't perform data recovery unless it's purchased separately.

Do you use new or used parts?

New or refurbished at our discretion, sourced to meet or exceed the function of the original component. Parts may differ cosmetically from the originals.

Can I supply my own parts?

Yes. We'll warrant our installation labor for 90 days, but we can't warrant a part we didn't supply or make any representation about its quality or compatibility.

Can I get my old parts back?

Sure — just ask in writing before we start the repair. Otherwise removed parts become our property and are recycled or disposed of.

Warranty and Payment

What's covered by the warranty?

Every repair carries a 90-day limited warranty on the parts we install and our workmanship on the specific repair you paid for. It starts the day we ship your device back. Full details, including what isn't covered, are on our Warranty page.

How do I make a warranty claim?

Email admin@senditconsolerepairs.com with your original order number and a description of the issue before shipping anything. Claims sent without prior contact may be returned unopened. You cover shipping to us; we cover return shipping back to you.

When do I pay?

At checkout. If we find additional work and you approve it, that's invoiced separately and paid before we ship your device back.

Can I cancel my order?

Yes, for a full refund any time before we receive your device. Once work has begun, refunds are at our discretion and net of any diagnostic fee, parts already used, and shipping costs incurred.

Other Questions

Do you do modifications or region unlocks?

Region modification and similar services are offered to let you use software you legitimately own. We don't install, enable, or assist with copy protection circumvention, piracy, or unauthorized distribution of copyrighted material.

What happens if I don't respond?

We'll email you at the address on your order when your device is ready or when we need a decision. If a device goes unclaimed or a balance goes unpaid for 60 days after that notice, it's considered abandoned and we may sell, recycle, or dispose of it to recover charges, as permitted by Texas law.

Do you ever turn repairs down?

Occasionally. We may decline devices that arrive in a condition materially different from what was described, devices with extensive prior damage, devices we reasonably believe to be stolen, and anything presenting a health or safety hazard — pest infestation, mold, heavy corrosion, or leaking batteries.

Where are you located?

We're a Texas business serving customers nationwide by mail, with local drop-off available in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.
